SERVE OUR COMMUNITY

As we progress to the new normal, we are in a great position to share the Gospel with our community! Serving looks like it never has before, and we believe God is using this time in our lives to spread His love in a vast way. God gave you unique gifts that can be used to help build His Kingdom . There's a place for you to serve with The Village.

Handy Man Ministry

The handyman ministry takes ‘lending a helping hand’ literally. This ministry attends to those who need help with repairs or projects around the house. Services could be extended to senior citizens, widows, persons with physical handicaps, etc. Projects could include: minor painting, light bulb replacement, air filters change, small plumbing or electrical jobs, yard cleanup, handicap ramp installation and gutter cleaning. Where there is a need, no job is too small.

Disaster Relief Teams

The Vision of The Village Baptist Church is that we would intersect the Peace of Christ with the restlessness of our community. When natural disasters happen, we have a team trained and ready to help others through a variety of tasks, and ultimately show God's love and plant seeds of hope during stressful times. Training is provided and individuals are needed!

Food Distribution

The Village partners with TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) to provide food to those in need. Volunteers are needed for several roles within this ministry. Children age 12+ are welcome to join with parents present.

  • Unloading/Packing: second Fridays from 3:00 - 5:30 pm
  • Food Distribution: second Saturdays from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • Prayer team: second Saturdays from 8:15 - 10:00 am

Food PANTRY

Our food distribution ministry blesses people in our community in a very tangible way. Volunteers are needed for food distribution on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 10 am-12 pm.

Ben Martin Elementary Partnership

The Village has partnered with local elementary school, Ben Martin, located across the street from our Reilly Road Campus. Teams from The Village work to serve the school and the families in many ways, including:
  • a school supply drive in the fall
  • organizing free community events
  • providing gifts to teachers for teacher appreciation week
  • a prayer walk around and through the school before the school year begins
There are many opportunities to serve in this ministry! Volunteers must be background checked to serve in events that involve children.

RED CROSS DISASTER RELIEF TEAM

The Village is forming a team to volunteer with the Red Cross. Due to COVID-19, the Red Cross is not able to bring volunteers across state lines, so local teams are needed to be ready to assist in forming local evacuation shelters should a hurricane or natural disaster happen in our area.

Outreach to Fort Bragg

Van Ministry

Every Thursday, volunteers from The Village shuttle soldiers from the barracks to our Reilly Road Campus for dinner and worship.

Unit Partnerships

The Village partners with Fort Bragg to provide support during deployments, Thanksgiving dinner, welcome home baskets to the barracks, and prayer.
